TAMPA, FL – June 30, 2021 – Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Public Company Limited, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of disposable gloves, is set to expand its global footprint by establishing a major production campus in the United States. This move comes as part of Sri Trang’s strategic initiative to meet the growing demand for high-quality gloves closer to key markets, ensuring more efficient supply chains and greater reliability for customers across North America.
The proposed campus, which could span over 100 acres, will be strategically located somewhere in either the Southwest or Southeast regions of the U.S. It will serve as a critical hub for Sri Trang’s operations in the region, housing a state-of-the-art nitrile glove manufacturing plant, a modern distribution and warehousing center, and an administrative complex. The facility aims to complement Sri Trang USA, Inc.’s existing operations in Tampa, enhancing the company’s distribution capabilities along the eastern seaboard.
Once fully operational, the new plant is expected to produce approximately 2.5 billion nitrile gloves per year within its first full year. Leveraging cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, advanced AI systems, and enhanced automation, the facility will maintain Sri Trang’s reputation for operational excellence and innovation. This commitment to modernization aligns seamlessly with the processes already in place at Sri Trang’s facilities in Thailand.
According to William “Billy†E. Harris III, CEO of Sri Trang USA, Inc., “By bringing glove production directly into the largest consumer market in the world, we eliminate significant delays and supply chain challenges faced by customers sourcing gloves from Asia. In addition to strengthening our supply chain reliability, this initiative will also establish a vital resource for glove expertise in North America. These gloves will be tariff-free, offering a seamless supply solution under both our Sri Trang brand and various OEM labels. Furthermore, we are committed to incorporating sustainable practices into the design of our U.S. campus, with considerations for locally sourced materials, eco-friendly energy solutions, and multipurpose spaces that reflect our dedication to environmental stewardship.â€
