High yield of tomatoes

During the entire growth cycle of tomatoes, it is essential to apply the right amount of fertilizer according to the plant's developmental stages in order to ensure high-quality and high-yield production. The fertilization strategy should be carefully planned and executed at different growth phases. At the planting stage, a base fertilizer should be applied before transplanting. For each acre, it is recommended to use a sufficient amount of well-rotted farmyard manure, along with 10 kg of urea, 10 kg of ammonium phosphate, and 40–50 kg of calcium superphosphate. Alternatively, you can use high-quality soil organic fertilizer or 25–50 kg of potassium sulfate compound fertilizer combined with 10 kg of urea. This provides a strong foundation for healthy plant development. During the growing season, if the leaves start to turn pale, foliar feeding can be applied. Commonly used solutions include a 300-fold dilution of urea, a 300-fold dilution of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, or a 0.1%–0.3% solution of potassium sulfate compound fertilizer. These sprays should be applied once every 10 days during the active growing period. It’s also beneficial to combine foliar fertilization with pest control to save time and improve efficiency. When the first fruits begin to develop, with a diameter of about 1.5–2.5 cm, it’s time for top-dressing. Typically, 15–20 kg of ammonium nitrate, 20–30 kg of superphosphate, or 5 kg of urea per mu is recommended. Additionally, 10–20 kg of potassium sulfate compound fertilizer can be applied after watering. When the second and third fruits reach a diameter of around 3 cm, additional top-dressing should be done separately. The first application would involve 10 kg of urea and 15–20 kg of potassium sulfate compound fertilizer per mu. In the full fruiting stage, foliar spraying can be used as an extra supplement. Solutions like potassium dihydrogen phosphate, liquid manure, or superphosphate can be applied to enhance fruit color and overall quality. This helps in achieving better marketability and higher profitability for tomato growers.
