Dehumidifier use precautions and maintenance methods

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your dehumidifier, regular maintenance is essential. Clean the condenser periodically and keep it free from dust and debris. Place the unit in the center of the room to allow for even air circulation. Make sure the air intake and exhaust vents are not obstructed, and clean the filter regularly to maintain efficiency.

If the ambient temperature drops below 15°C, moisture on the evaporator may freeze, reducing the dehumidifier’s effectiveness. Conversely, if the temperature exceeds 40°C, internal pressure can rise, potentially overloading the compressor. In such cases, the overload protector should be activated to prevent damage to the motor. Therefore, the dehumidifier is best used within a temperature range of 15°C to 40°C.

When the humidity level in the air falls below 30%, the air becomes excessively dry, which can be uncomfortable. A reliable humidity controller should be used to maintain a comfortable range between 50% and 60%. To maximize dehumidification, close doors and windows as much as possible during operation. Ensure the unit is placed on a flat surface—never tilt or place it at an angle, as this could cause mechanical issues or unusual noises.

If the water tank becomes full, avoid spilling water onto the floor. When emptying the tank, always unplug the unit first, then carefully pour out the water. After moving the dehumidifier, wait at least four to six hours before restarting it. This allows the refrigerant to settle properly inside the compressor. Regularly clean the filter (about every two weeks) to maintain efficient dehumidification and extend the lifespan of the unit.

To clean the filter, rinse it with water below 40°C. For better results, use a mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly and let it dry completely before reinserting it. When cleaning the exterior of the unit, use a damp cloth and avoid direct water spray to protect internal electrical components. If there are adhesive residues on the surface, gently clean them with soapy water. Avoid using gasoline, solvents, or insecticides, as they may damage the finish or cause discoloration.

Never use sharp objects like wires or rods to open or tamper with the internal components, as this can lead to malfunctions or safety hazards. When the unit is not in use for an extended period or when traveling, always unplug the power cord to preserve its performance and prolong its life.
