The pigeons have been vaccinated against pigeon pox and salmonellosis.

2 Clinical Symptoms Pigeons lost appetite, mental fatigue, loose feathers, and loss of weight before death. Visible pale green to light yellow mucus in the mouth and out of the mouth, forming a yellow pseudomembrane with a morbidity and mortality rate of 50%.

4 laboratory examination (1) microscopic examination: scrape the mucous smear microscopy in the mouth, esophagus or crops, pear-shaped and oval and flagellate Trichomonas. (2) Histological examination: The oral mucosa and liver tissue were examined by microscopy to reveal heterophilia and mononuclear cell counts. Focal necrotic abscess appeared in the lobular area of ​​the liver. There was no complete hepatocyte retention in the center of the lesion. There are a lot of Trichomonas around. (3) Culturing: Yellow secretions from the oral cavity and throat were taken and inoculated on Shabau's agar medium and cultured at 37°C for 48 hours without mold growth.

5 The diagnosis was based on a comprehensive analysis of clinical symptoms, pathological changes, and laboratory test results. It was diagnosed as pigeon trichomoniasis.

6 Prevention and control measures (1) Diseased and deadly pigeons are buried in a harmless manner. The environment of the farm is disinfected with caustic soda once a day. The lofts are sterilized with 0.5% peroxyacetic acid or 0.5% iodine every 3 days with pigeons. The device and the trough are soaked in caustic soda for 1 day. (2) Strengthen feeding and management. Add a variety of vitamins to the feed to improve the resistance of the pigeons. (3) drug treatment: 1 whole group with 0.05% metronidazole water for 7 days. 2 Use 1/1500 cupric sulfate or 1/1500 potency iodine to drink water every other day for 3 to 5 days. 3 amikacin drinking water, phlegm bacteria net mix to control concurrent infections. 4 Surgical therapy: Use a sterile cotton swab to remove the pseudomembrane in the mouth of a clean pigeon with saline and apply 5% iodine glycerol. After the above measures were adopted, the condition was basically controlled, and the death of the pigeons was reduced or even stopped.
