Breast size is related to the risk of breast cancer

In this study, 89,268 women between the ages of 29 and 47 were investigated. The breast size of these subjects was measured at the age of 20 years. The researchers then conducted a long-term follow-up survey of them to try to understand the relationship between breast size and breast cancer development.

Large breasts have a high risk of breast cancer

The results showed that compared with women with small breasts, women with large breasts had a 80% higher risk of breast cancer. The researchers explained that the reason for this result is simple: The bigger the breast, the more mammary cells there are. The more cells there are, the greater the risk of potential cell variation or malignancy.

The researchers said that the results of this study are very useful to researchers of breast cancer, but they are not of practical significance to women because the size of the breast is not determined by women themselves. Researchers also said that although their findings indicate that women with larger breasts are at greater risk for breast cancer, this does not prove that women with small breasts can rest easy.

All women should strengthen breast cancer screening, not just breast-filled women.
