Physiological characteristics of cultured newborn lambs

Lamb cultivation refers to the feeding and management of young sheep from birth to weaning. Lamb stage is the fastest growing period of goat's life. Strengthening the feeding and management of lambs and conscientiously grasping the cultivation of lambs can lay a good foundation for improving the production performance of the sheep.
The physiological characteristics of newborn lambs:
1. The body temperature regulation ability of the newborn lamb is not perfect, and the body temperature is easily affected by the change of the ambient temperature, especially in the hours after birth. Stimulated by cold, prone to colds, pneumonia and other diseases. Lambs born in the cold winter and spring should pay attention to keep warm.
2. The newborn lamb has weak resistance and poor adaptability. It depends entirely on eating colostrum to survive.
3. Digestive power is weak. The milk sucked by the newborn lamb directly enters the stomach through the esophageal groove for digestion. Because various digestive enzymes are not yet sound, the reflex of the intestinal nerve is rather weak, and it is susceptible to indigestion and diarrhea.
4. The detoxification ability of liver function is weak, and the metabolic capacity of decomposition and synthesis is weaker.
