Heavy metal scrap will force the white mullet to change its physiological characteristics

Russian experts have found that, under the long-term effects of heavy metal scrap, white mullet will be forced to change its growth and reproduction patterns. The white pelicans living in freshwater lakes in northwest Russia mainly feed on mollusks and plankton. The adult white pheasant is up to 60 cm in length and weighs about 3.5 kg. The first time spawning females are 4 to 5 years old. According to the latest issue of the “Science and Information” magazine, experts from the Northern Institute of Industrial Ecology of the Russian Academy of Sciences conducted an inspection of the white sands of Lake Imandera and Lower Pilates Lake in the Okla Peninsula. The results of the inspection showed that the water quality of the lower flank Lianga Lake was clean, and that the day-to-day life was normal. However, due to the long-term discharge of heavy metal scrap by the mining and metallurgical enterprises near Lake Imandela, the growth and reproduction laws of the sea bream have changed significantly. Scientists have found through laboratory tests that most of the Imandela ferrets are in a state of chronic heavy metal poisoning. In order to resist the effects of toxins, the white panda's immune system consumes a lot of energy in the body, leaving little energy for growth. Therefore, its body length and weight generally do not meet normal standards. In order to conserve energy and sustain life, the reproductive system of some female Imandera ferrets develops slowly, and their first oviposition age exceeds 5 years. In some years, some females do not even lay eggs. This phenomenon is very detrimental to the reproduction of the population. In contrast, most females have undergone another change in their physiological functions during the battle against the unfavorable environment. The remaining energy in the fish is mainly used for breeding. The first oviposition age of females is advanced to 3 years. . However, this way of life leads to very little fat in the body and the fish can easily die prematurely. Moyi Xieke, an expert at the Russian North Institute of Industrial Ecology, pointed out that the above research results show that the ability of white peony to adapt to heavy metal pollution is limited. Only by relieving the pollution of Lake Imandela can we bring more survival opportunities to the future generations of the White Pelicans.
