Prospects for the production of yeast protein using corn starch processing waste

Recently, from the "2010 China Yeast Protein Industry Development Seminar" hosted by the China Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, it was learned that a new feed protein source, yeast protein, was successfully developed by Qinhuangdao Hao Starch Co., Ltd. and invested 150 million yuan. The RMB has built a production line with an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons. If this production process is widely used in China's starch processing industry, it can provide 2.5 million tons of yeast protein products for China.

Professor Shi Weijun, chairman of the China Fermentation Industry Association, pointed out that yeast is the earliest and most utilized single-cell microorganism. It is an ideal source of nutrients and food raw materials, and a source of high-quality protein feed. In 2009, the industrial consumption of corn in China reached 45 million tons, and corn soaking water became an important source of pollution in the deep processing of corn starch. Qinhuangdao Yeast Starch Co., Ltd. uses the waste produced during the processing of corn starch to produce yeast protein, which not only solves the pollution problem in the processing of corn, but also achieves clean production and will improve the quality of feed protein source in China to some extent. The lack of situation, although the current yeast protein industry in China has not formed a scale, but with the introduction of yeast protein produced from corn deep processing by-products as the main raw material, the yeast protein industry must be bright in the future, and the market prospects are broad.

Wang Xiaohong, director of the National Feed Work Office, said that the current overall economic situation has improved, and animal husbandry production has been developing steadily in structural optimization. Domestic corn prices have been on the rise channel for more than 20 weeks, and some previously used concentrated feed and additive premix feeds. The households have turned to the direct use of compound feed. These conditions have promoted a significant increase in the production of compound feeds, which has also led to an adjustment in the structure of commercial feed production. The tightness of feed protein resources in China will continue, and comprehensive technologies should be used for open source and throttling.

Professor Li Shengli, the chief scientist of the National Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System (dairy cow), reported the phased results of using the yeast protein to study the performance of dairy cows. Experiments show that: yeast protein feed significantly increases milk production, improves moisture, saves feed, and reduces cost. At the same time, Professor Li Shengli also suggested how to make good yeast protein raw materials better used in different animal diets. There are still many systematic and scientific production and research experiments that need to be continued, through scientific experiments and products. Improve and achieve the goal of effectively exerting product value.

At the meeting, Gao Hongzeng, chief engineer of Qinhuangdao Hao Starch Co., Ltd. introduced the product development process and industrial production process. The inspection report proved the safety control and product quality status of the whole process of product production.
Experts attending the conference believe that China is the world's largest meat producer and consumer, the world's first feed market, and the world's number one soybean trade importer. 90% of soybean meal in feed consumption relies on imported soybeans or soybean meal to solve the problem. The overall demand exceeds 37 million tons. China is also the world's largest importer of fishmeal. 80% of the feed demand for fishmeal needs to be imported, with a total demand of 1.5 million tons. These facts tell us that China is a country with a huge shortage of protein sources. It has a high dependence on the international market. The development of feed industry is facing tremendous resource pressure and market crisis. Therefore, open source and throttling are extremely important for the development of China's feed industry. The use of corn starch to process the molasses produced during soaking water and starch sugar production, inoculation of yeast using deep liquid fermentation technology to produce special feed yeast protein has broad market prospects.
